The Solar twin is the middle of the three solar panels. Like the post it is fixed and powers machines wirelessly, but it reaches 24 m instead of 16 m and keeps a 4 kWh battery that takes over when the Sun goes down. For $150 it gives two and a half times the post's output.
Two Solar twins cover one Pressure chamber's 10 kW in daylight
How many Solar twins each machine needs
- Pressure chamber (10 kW): two twins, $300, giving 15 kW.
- Stone press (18 kW): three twins, $450, giving 22.5 kW.
- A chamber and a press together (28 kW): four twins, $600, giving 30 kW.
Count every machine in range against the total; a supply that runs one chamber may not run a second one added later.
Why machines stop at night
At night solar output drops to zero and the machines run on stored charge. When the twins' batteries are empty, production stops until sunrise, which looks like a broken line from a distance. Check the stored charge before you replace a machine or add another. Builders who run lines through the night use Solar trackers, two per Pressure chamber and three per Stone press.
